It drives my mom crazy...

how I can easily accumulate dirt, especially when my fur is wet.

Case in point- this picture was taken just after I drank water. Clean water, mind you. But from the photo, it looked like I drank from a muddy pool.

"I miss the teflon-like fur of the Japanese Spitz" she tells me for the nth time as she cleans/brushes my fur. She often wonders why I did not inherit that from my Mommy Myra?

Dog Park

Yesterday, I joined a Fun Run with my mom. I was the only one with four legs but I didn't care. They adored me!

The fun run was held at this HUGE park where dogs are allowed and after the event, my mom and I spent hours exploring it.

My mom left her flashy box and only used her phone, hence, bad pictures.

(See my muddy feet? That's the result of having too much fun.)

I am glad there are more dog-friendly places here. My mom told me if I'm really really good, she can take me along with her to another park to play with other dogs and join the Animal Blessing.* (What the?!! Hoomans think of the strangest things).

*Mom's note: An animal blessing is a traditional event every October during the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi

I'm Back!!!

Hey there! I miss you all. My personal assistant mommy has been so busy these past few weeks and did not have time to update my blog. But, she did found time to take me along with her to the beach this weekend.

We drove three hours south to this amazing beach resort. Our rooms were directly below these pretty tamarind trees.

It was a perfect day for the beach. Too bad they left the camera in the room while I was swimming. :( I could have shown you how good I was at it.

Watching other guests take a dip.

The next day,my aunt took me for a stroll on the beach and
we were able to watch fishermen at work.

Doing the obligatory pose under a tree.

I hope your weekend was good too!

Love,
Maxie

Guilt trip and Meeting

My mom has been so busy these past few days, flying from one destination to another.

I know she is feeling guilty about leaving me with my crabby strict aunt because she would always go overboard with treats and toys for me.

In fact, she has been so guilty that she brought me along with her when she met the Secretary of the Greenwoods pack, Sumo and Sweepy's Keeper, the Mommy of the Piappies at Bonifacio High Street. The place was specifically chosen because of its dog-friendly amenities.

We were there early so Mommy and I had time to explore the park.

(Checking the messages left by other dogs.)

When we got tired, we sat down at the cafe. While mommy was drinking her coffee, I watched hoomans pass by. Many wanted to get to know me and I beckoned them to come near and rewarded them with lots of kisses.

My mom told me that I will meet the Wai-puppies that day and I was so excited to play with them.

I dragged her out of the coffee shop so we can find Wai-Pai and Wai-Max.

(Where are the Wai-Puppies?)

(Are they hiding behind the bushes?)

I saw this unique fountain and I asked my mom if I could play in the water for a while.

(Wet look)

Finally, we spotted the Wai-Puppies:
This is Wai-Max

This is his sister, Wai-Pai

They were wearing shirts! I felt so naked beside them. I knew I should have worn my bandanna!

The hoomans decided to sit in the middle of the park (picnic style) to get to know us better. But we had to relocate to one of the restaurants when it started to rain.

Wai-Pai and Wai-Max are very close. See, they even shared a seat.

What are you looking at, Wai-Max?

Oh, the hoomans bored me with all their talk and I fell asleep under the table.

Later on, we walked around and met other dogs:

That was my first doggie day out and it was so fun! I love meeting and playing with other dogs and hoomans so I was furry happy. The Secretary even gave me the nickname "Mr. Congeniality." My mom promised that we will do this again soon.

Maxie's Mischief Vol.1 - The case of the missing shirt

Hello there!

This morning, I snuck inside my grandpa's room while he was getting ready to go out. I greeted him good morning, gave him a kiss, which is when I saw the shirt on the bed. While his back was turned, I gingerly reached for the shirt, quietly went out of the room and went downstairs where I hid the shirt among my many toys.

A few minutes later, I heard him looking for his shirt and after a few seconds he shouted "MAXIE!" and went down to find me. I showed him where I hid the shirt but refused to give it back. I ran, with the shirt in my mouth, and grandpa went after me. We went round and round the dining table. By the time he caught me, he was so amused and exhausted that he decide to let it pass and tickled me instead. Hahaha My Grandpa is so easy!!

My day has been productive so far. How about yours?
