The greatest invention ever...

Mom fills it up with treats, bits of cheese or peanut butter. I throw it around to get the treats. When I finish eating all of it, I bring it to my mom for refill. I just love my new toy!

I turned two years old today!

It's my 2nd barkday today and I celebrated it with cake and pressies. Of course, my BFF Myra was there to celebrate it with me.
My hooman family feasted on food and a delicious cake, which I initially thought was for me. But, it was chocolate (their favorite) so I can't have any. Mom bought my favorite sugarless bun, an idea she got from Sweepy's Keeper. She doesn't know how to make those yummy dog cakes that my furry friends have been blogging about so the bun was a very convenient alternative.
I shared my cake with my BFF and she found it irresistable. So irresistable that when i turned my head for a second, she gobbled it all up! I opened my huge present and it was full of different wonderful things that I love. It was a very fun day and I am one lucky dog.

My furry friend

I think it's wonderful that I have friends I could play with. Myra is one of my oldest friends and I love spending time with her.
We are very different, both in appearance and personality. I am bigger than her, my ears are larger and I have brown nose and eyes. Myra's ears are upright. Her nose and eyes are both black.
(Charlie)
(Myra)
Myra is friendly and sweet, I am naughty and rowdy. Myra would greet anyone, while I am more wary of strangers and would cock my head until I figure that the person is worth knowing. I would come when I am called, Myra would opt to ignore her dad. I like to play with water while Myra is afraid of it.

I met her when I was barely 3 months old. We clicked instantly and have been friends since. We loved wrestling and playing bitey face then.

( I am the one with the yellow collar)

Almost two years later, we still love playing the same games.
We share toys and treats. We really enjoy each other's company.

(See the size difference?)

It's a good thing she lives right next door, I could always visit her if I want to play. I would just give my mom a really good stare to convey the message. Sometimes, Myra would come by and visit me. Sometimes, mom and I would take her along as we walk around the nieghborhood. Of course, we get a fair amount of attention, as people would always stop by and admire our furry white coats. But, we're used to it.

We get into all kinds of mischiefs when were together but we don't really mind getting scolded because we always have a grand time. Often, we would get into trouble because we would play tag team and chase the cats away. It's so fun! It's great to have a friend!

Tricked!

Why do I always have to work for my treat? Why mom?
Other dogs just have to look cute and they get rewarded.
But, I have to.....perform! The injustice!

My mother would always ask that I do a Long Stay
with a tempting treat in front of my nose.
She says its a test of character.
Yeah, whatever!

She told me that the treat will be placed on my paw

And I would have to resist

At first, I thought this was easy but after a short while,
my determination was starting to crumble.

The tasty biscuit was within my reach, I could just grab it.
I'll be very fast and she won't be able to catch me.

No!!! I must not grab the treat......

A few seconds later my mind was screaming

"This is torture!!!"

Somebody please call animal welfare.
This crazy woman should be apprehended.

Just a few more seconds, I tell myself, and...
Yes!! Victory!
Ahh...the well-earned treat tasted so good.
Now what?
I have to do it on both paws??! You must be kidding.

Attacked by a monster

Hello everyone, Charlie here. I would just like to post a short report on how I was attacked by a monster. Oh yes, it's true! I have pictures to prove it.
One afternoon, I was minding my own business . When I heard someone saying "I will eat you Charlie!! Naaarrgghh!!!"

Then, it attacked! I tried to run away but I couldn't do anything, it already pinned me down.

I can't get up. I couldn't get away. The monster tickled me to submission.

Don't worry pups, I was able to escape eventually. As revenge, I gave the monster my version of the tickle attack.

If she only knew...

I did not like my day yesterday; My mom, on the other hand, had a grand time. She went out at around lunch time and left me with my Aunt Jamee.

She went to visit this:

It is the oldest active ocean-faring passenger ship. It travels around the world carrying books and selling it at discount prices. Being the bookworm that she is, she had to see it. She bought seven classic novels all for P900.00 (roughly $20).

Then, she went to see her friends and they watched the final performance of her favorite Filipino band.

If she only knew that I barely touched my food because I was anxious for her to come home.
If she only knew that I just slept because I didn't want to play with anyone else.
If she only knew how long I stood by the gate hoping to see her familiar face.

When she came home around 2 a.m., I immediately greeted her and showered her with doggy kisses. I was so happy to see her that I forgot I was supposed to be mad at her. It didn't matter anymore that she was away for far too long. All that matters is that she's home.

Puppy pictures

My mom was organizing her files and found a set of my very first pictures. They were taken a few days after I was adopted by my family.

2 months old. My ears are all floppy in this picture and I still have my puppy fuzz.

This is Sayid, my mom's cat. My mom is trying to introduce me to him. Notice my tense posture? It's because he is much bigger than me and I'm wary of his sharp claws. Sayid's mother is a stray cat who choose to linger in the garden because she receives free food from my family.

Sayid was adopted by mom as a kitty. He was a good hunter and sweet cat who loves to sit on mom's lap and give massages with his paws. Sadly, Sayid died around a year ago. I never had any other friend like Sayid. I try to get along with other cats but I just couldn't resist chasing after them. Sayid, however, would put me in my place. He would often sit on mom's lap and get her on his side.

Lazy afternoons

This is how I usually spend my afternoons….

Sleeping beside my mom’s feet while she finishes her work.

She thinks that it’s one of my sweetest habits.

I think I got her wrapped around my little paw.
I saw something on the chair. It's brown, shaped like a bone and as soft as my stuffie.
Hmmm..this must belong to me. Mommy must have bought me a new toy to play with.
I smelled it, tasted it and tried to play with it.

But, grandma told me I couldn't play with it because its not mine. She said I'll rip it apart in a second. Not fair! I know this is for me. Just look at it! Doesn't that look like a stuffie for a dog like me? I'll try to take it again when they're not looking. I know they'll give in somehow. Hehehe.
